Full course description

The goal of the UTA Alternative Certfication Program for Teachers is to provide a non-credit alternative pathway to teacher certification for students who have previously earned a bachelor’s degree. Modules are designed to meet Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements for alternative certification and address topics such as the role of the professional educator, K-12 classroom management, instructional planning and delivery, formative and summative assessment, and the design of instruction to meet the needs of individual learners. UTA Alternative includes several distinctive features, including interactive module content grounded in both research and practice, responsive feedback, differentiated pacing guides, synchronous sessions with content experts, and a multi-tiered mentorship system.

To fully complete the ACP program and receive any required certification or recommendation, enrollees must have paid the full cost of the program.
